Everything happens for a reason. Whether it’s good or bad, what matters is you learn something from it, and you do not give up. The same holds true to dogs, and one good example is this little Pit Bull named Jake, who once experienced a misfortune that later turned out to be a blessing in disguise.
Jake was just a few weeks old when he survived a fire. One of the firefighters saw him trapped in a shed and immediately saved him. He was severely injured and suffered from burns all over his tiny body when he was brought to the nearest vet.
Jake felt lucky to be given a second chance at life, but his misfortune was far from over. While he was taking a rest at the vet’s clinic, his family decided to abandon him. The poor dog was left to struggle on his own, but the best is yet to come for him.
Jake’s rescuer found out that his family left him and thought that it was best to adopt him. And that’s when the little Pit Bull’s life took an incredible turn. His new owner took care of him like a real member of the family, and he helped him to recover not just physically but also mentally and emotionally.
Since Jake’s new dad is a firefighter, Jake spends most of his time at the fire station, where he helps the crew in doing their tasks like checking the fire hydrants. Because of his significant contribution, he was appointed as the Hanahan Fire Department’s official mascot. He got his own swearing-in ceremony, and he was given his own vest and badge.
From a pup who got rescued from a fire accident, Jake turned into a fire department ambassador. Recently, he’s getting ready to work as a licensed therapy dog for the kids who’ve suffered from burns. After all that he had been through, it’s time to pay it forward.
