When we celebrated the first day of this year, we had no idea it was going to force us into a situation that would change our lives forever. We’ve already heard information about the potential threat carried by the novel coronavirus last year, but we didn’t feel the gravity of the situation then. It only dawned on us during the first quarter of this year.
As country after country began putting themselves on lockdown, everyone slowly began to realize how powerful the virus was. Well, COVID-19 is still very much present in most countries, and medical professionals are still looking for the best way to cure the deadly disease.
In an effort to keep from getting infected by the virus, most people have been keeping themselves locked in their homes. Those who are required to go to work are obliged to use personal protective equipment(PPE) such as face masks and face shields. They also need to maintain a one-meter distance from the people around them.
Reporting for duty
Dog parents also made PPEs for their pets to protect them from the deadly disease. Among those caught wearing one was Marian, a beautiful brown dog riding a pedicab with her owner in Manila, Philippines. She had a face mask over her snout and a face shield resting just below her ears.
Marian would insist on going to work with her dad, who, unlike most people, could not afford to stop working as a pedicab driver. She would sit on the cart and enthusiastically greet passengers who would hop in for a ride. She would then bid them goodbye once they’ve reached their destination.
Eyes on the dog
Marian and her dad’s story made rounds online when some commuters uploaded photos of them. Some of these folks would even wait for them to pass by just so they could meet the PPE-wearing pooch.
