Some dogs really have a tough time before they finally find their fur-ever home. But no matter what they have been through, these canines seem to be resilient and strong as long as they have the perfect family that cares for them and loves them. You would be surprised to discover what these dogs can do.
Red is a K-9 was found one morning, waiting at the gate of the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office, by Reserve Deputy William Halls. According to him, another employee saw someone putting out a cigarette on the poor pooch’s skin. When he ran near him, the man just ran away.
The employee immediately went to Red to check and pet him. The poor dog was still very friendly and gentle despite what had recently happened. Red looked like a lonely furbaby who just wanted someone to take care of him.
William Halls and his family decided to adopt Red. They immediately saw how loving and sweet this dog was. He had some cigarette burns and marks that showed that he was abused. But now, the Halls are determined to make this new member of their family feel safe and loved.
Red was put into basic obedience training by the Halls family. Deputy Halls saw how the doggo easily adapted to his new home and this sparked him an idea. He wanted to train Red as a K-9 for public relations. After a while, Sheriff Bobby Rader from the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office swore the rescue dog into service as a canine deputy.
K-9 Red was trained to help in raising awareness about helping the Sheriff’s Office through serving and protecting the community. He tagged along with the department wherever they go and meet people. They all found an instant connection with the furry deputy.
Red makes every room brighter when he walks in. The amount of love and affection that this sweet boy is giving his family and his colleagues in the police force is overwhelming. It’s like he actually knows that he is finally in the right home.
