Countless abandoned and stray dogs find refuge in the wilderness. It’s easy to hide from humans and there are also more chances of finding food. However, these dogs still need help and they still need to have a forever home with a loving family.
Unlike wolves, dogs are domesticated creatures that need humans to survive. Without a human family caring for them, their health will continue to decline over time. A dog that was later named Willow was found by a man hiking in the woods in Canada named Graham. Willow didn’t trust people and Graham tried to make friends with Willow.
At first, Willow growled at Graham whenever he tries to come near. However, Graham was undeterred and he knew he needed to do something to win the dog’s trust and take her back home with him. After a few more minutes of talking calmly to Willow and offering her some food, Graham finally started to win Willow over.
Willow warmed up to Graham and Graham also offered willow some water. Eventually, Graham was able to get Willow to follow him back to his car. Graham noticed that Willow had difficulty walking and that there was something wrong with her legs. They needed to make a few stops for Willow to rest. Willow was also quite skinny which indicated that she wasn’t eating too well.
Graham fed Willow some of his lunch and he took her to the vet. X-rays showed that Willow’s back legs were both broken and it was just starting to heal. Willow wasn’t microchipped and no one was looking for her as well. So, Graham decided to adopt Willow.
Ever since Graham adopted Willow, the two have been inseparable and would often go on adventures together. Graham also noticed that Willow was getting bigger. At first, Graham thought that it was probably because of a well-balanced diet and that she’s finally eating. However, it turned out that Willow was pregnant when he adopted her.
A few weeks after the adoption, Willow gave birth to nine beautiful puppies. Graham couldn’t be prouder of Willow and Willow also proved to be such a great mom to her babies. If it weren’t for Graham’s compassion and patience, Willow would have given birth to her puppies in the woods. Here’s a video showing how Graham rescued Willow and gained her trust.
